18% of people use privacy-oriented browsers for online security, according to a survey. It clearly shows how people are concerned about their online safety. With that being said, is your website secure? Which protocol are you using – HTTP or HTTPS? If you are still using HTTP in 2023, we are here to explain why you should use HTTPS. HTTPS is a security protocol that is an upgraded version of HTTP. It is used to send information between internet browsers and websites, such as login information and credentials.

HTTPS is said to have an advanced level of protection – the SSL certificate that keeps your website and data secure. Here is how HTTPS can benefit your website.

● For Better SEO

Having a great website is of no worth, not until it reaches your target customers. The first step to enhance the visibility of your website is to make it SEO-friendly. For that, HTTPS is of great help.

One of the most common ways of ranking your website is using keywords. However, Google algorithms are not solely dependent on the keywords. It also looks for the security standards of the website. If your website is not secure, Google will never rank it.

So, HTTPS means your website is secure. Resultantly, it will have a positive outcome in Google’s ranking.

● For Ensuring Customer Safety

As we mentioned at the start of the article, users are concerned with their online safety and don’t like third parties interacting with their browsing. So, if you want to build trust among your customers, you have to make sure you offer them a secure online experience.

The websites that don’t follow HTTPS protocol are labeled as “not secure” in bold red font. If your website is labeled as a non-secure website, no user would want to visit it.

● For Securing Your Website Data

As said several times, the primary purpose of HTTPS protocol is to keep your data safe. It prevents unauthorized persons or hackers from accessing personal data that could be misused against your site or your users.

Try Dynamic Hosting for a Secure Hosting Experience

So, do you have security concerns regarding your website? Choosing a credible hosting service might help you get rid of that. Try Dynamic Hosting for a great hosting experience that is made to cater to your unique needs.

404 pages can drastically affect your website traffic if you don’t pay attention to them. Imagine you open a link just to get redirected to a 404 page; isn’t it frustrating? It can affect your brand image and leave a negative impression on your customers, so you need to do something about it.

What are 404 Pages?

A 404 page is a landing page that tells the user the data they are trying to access is currently unavailable. It can be because of various reasons. The page might be inaccessible in a specific region, or the link might be broken. Also, it might be possible the page doesn’t exist or is under construction.

How to Find these pages?

The first step in dealing with broken links is finding them. Though it seems simple, finding 404 pages can be a hassle when handling a large website. You need a tool for that.

There are two options for you. You can search for a broken link checker plugin from 60,000 WordPress plugins or use a free broken link checker. Both of these options can give you a list of all the links to your website that aren’t working.

How to Fix them?

Now that you have the list of all the broken links, fixing 404 pages is easier than ever. You just have to go through each of them and decide whether to replace the link with new, valid links or remove them.

How to Make 404 Pages Helpful?

Though most people believe 404 pages are an issue they must solve immediately, think of it as an opportunity to engage your audience and make the most out of it. Try making it helpful for the lost people.

People are redirected to 404 pages when they can’t find what they are looking for, so it’s a great opportunity for you to direct them to your desired destinations. Place search bars or links to other landing pages that might help them find their destination.

Dynamic Hosting – The Dedicated Web Hosting Solution You Need

If you are facing problems such as too many 404 pages and broken links, a dedicated web hosting service might help you. Dynamic Hosting is a great choice for people looking for affordable and satisfactory web hosting services for WordPress.

Websites being hacked is a severe issue, but this doesn’t mean you have to give up. There is always a solution for everything; if not, there are precautions. You have got both for website hacking. It is possible to recover WordPress after it has been hacked.

Firstly, you can follow precautionary measures. The most significant precaution is choosing a credible hosting service, such as Dynamic Hosting. Even if your website gets hacked after preventive measures, you can save it by recognizing the signs of a hacked website in time. Here is how you can recover your WordPress website after it has been hacked.

Restore Your Site from Backup

When a website is hacked, the first concern is to build the website again, from scratch. Hosting service providers usually offer backup services. The hosting service makes sure you have a quick backup at hand; you can view it in your WordPress account.

From the backup option in the settings, you can restore your website. However, restoring alone is not enough. There are a few other steps you need to follow.

Turn On the Maintenance Mode

You might have seen websites being unavailable because they are under maintenance. After you have restored your website, turn on the maintenance mode. You can do so from the dashboard of your WordPress site.

They are two modes usually available under maintenance settings. One is for the websites that are soon to be launched other is for the websites that are being updated. You can also customize the screen from here.

Remove Potential Malware

Now is the time to delete all the useless stuff, as it might contain potential malware. It could be the templates or extensions that you don’t use.

Another illegitimate way of accessing a website is through unauthorized users. Hackers can easily create additional user accounts with significant privileges. So, remove all the unauthorized user accounts.

Change Security Keys

Security keys are the encrypted forms of your passwords. A crucial step to recover your website is to change passwords along with security keys. If the hacker somehow knows the security key changing the password would be useless. So, it is necessary to find the root cause of the problem. You can change it through cPanel. After changing the security keys, change the password, even if you have done it, just before changing the keys.

Wrapping Up!

Website hacking is a nightmare. Even with all the precautions, it is still possible to get your website hacked. According to haveibeenpwned.com, 588 websites got pawned. This is a big issue. It is a real possibility that your website might get hacked someday that is why you need to prepare. You can easily recover your WordPress website by following the above-mentioned simple steps. Make sure you have a credible host at your side during the process. It will make the process easier.

We all know that our data needs backups every now and then, and Dynamic hosting has many blogs explaining the importance of backups. However, with the advancement of technology and the entire market becoming available on the internet, having a website has equivalent importance to any other tools necessary for the success of a business.

If you didn’t already know, there are hundreds of things you can do to keep your website protected and believe it or not they are not very well known. You can choose to work with the best web hosting server, or even think of the best passwords, however, if you do not do this one thing, your website will always be at risk: backup.

First things first, you do not have to worry about sudden losses of data or hackers because you have it all backed up. Second, you do not have to worry about all the time it takes to backup your website. Well, that’s because it simply takes just a few minutes. This being said, let us take you through the reasons why you should back up your website, and how often you should do so.

Keeping everything important where they belong

As we mentioned above, website backups can save you from many accidental errors. These errors include deleting important files and folders from your website. Sure, technology has improved in many ways and doesn’t need you to do things manually, however, it can still fail.

Viruses are no joke

Yes, one of the reasons why you should constantly update your website is because of viruses. The sole reason why malware is put on the internet is to do harm. Your backups are what you need to protect your website. Keep in mind that once a virus enters your website, they have the ability to ruin your work from the inside.

It is easy, automatic and quick.

Another reason to back up your website is… why not? Backing up your website:

Takes no longer than just a few minutes

Is very easy to do so

Can be done automatically if scheduled properly.

Helps you cut cost

Losing money is never fun, and guess what! Backing up your website can help you cut costs. Say you lost all your data, what do you think your next step will be? Trying to restore the information, right? Well, apart from the fact that it is nearly impossible to restore the data completely, it also costs a lot of money to bring back what you have built.

For our next question, how often should you back up your website? We can give you 2 answers; the short one and long one.

Website backups should be done regularly, that is daily or weekly; that is our short answer.

Now for the long one (don’t worry, it’s not that long.) It all depends on the number of updates you do on it. What we mean is, if you weekly make changes, publish posts, add information on your website, that means you should backup your website weekly.

Now that you know the reasons why you should constantly back up your website, don’t let the information go in one ear and out the other. Many have learned (and learned the hard way) why backing up is an essential step. Visit Dynamic hosting to learn more!

There are many terms used in the hosting service, some are easy to understand while others…not so much. Today we will get to know what FTP and SFTP is. They might look complicated, but we’re about to fix that.

To start our explanation, let’s first talk about “data”. Why are they considered a valuable asset, and why companies must do their best in order to protect them. When a company starts growing and advancing, so does the number of their clients. Working with customers means having their sensitive information in the palm of your hands. Which is why it is crucial to do everything in your power to keep them safe. This information can contain addresses, credit card information, passwords and many more. It is your responsibility to make sure the way you transfer them is secured. One of the best things an organization can do is focus greatly on how to store and transfer data because transferring the data in random ways on the internet can also mean potential breaches.

Remember, your company’s reputation is one of the primary things that helps keep the company going.
Now, what does FTP and SFTP have to do with companies and their data? The two acronyms mentioned are two common file transfer options, however, what do they mean? What is the difference between the two and when should one use them?

The Difference Between FTP and SFTP.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) are two of the most common and traditional file transferring options and here are some facts about the two:

SFTP is more secure than FTP (If you didn’t already conclude that.)

SFTP is always significantly slower than FTP.

Two channels are used to transfer data with FTP whereas with SFTP, only 1 channel is used to transfer data.

SFTP also stands for “SSH File Transfer Protocol”. (SSH is short for Secure Shell, which offers a secure access to your server)

Both FTP and SFTP help your company transfer data via internet. The main difference between these two is the use of encryption. FTP transfers data and files between a client and a server without the use of encryption where as SFTP transfers data by encrypting the information first, meaning that whatever is exposed on the internet won’t also be exposed to outside entities and potential hackers.

Encryption is the process of translating a clear data into a code so that the transferred information doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. Companies find encryption as an essential factor because since the data is scrambled, no one other than the sender and the receiver can decipher it. So basically, what I’m trying to say is that SFTP does exactly what FTP does, but in a more secure way!

What do website owners think about the most?

Data Privacy vs. Data Security : Irrespective of their site’s success, website owners are always on the hunt for ways to improve their sites.

They constantly think about improving their site’s interface, user experience, and page loading speed. Still, the most pressing concern of every site owner is security.

Why is cyber security so important?

Before you launched your website, you might have encountered various approaches to cyber security. Your present security measures might be strong, but you’d naturally jump on a better one when you find it. Why is that?

Data protection. Data are the pillars of every website. A compromise in your site’s security would expose its data to devastating levels of exploitation. Of course, no one wants that.

A strong security program keeps your site safe from both external and internal attacks. However, the best feature any website could have is innovative security.

Malware and Spyware are being improved by the second. So it’s only logical that your site’s security gets constant improvement to counter them.

Experts have reported that security should take a significant proportion of a web management budget. If that’s the norm in your case, it proves that you’re security conscious and doing your best to protect your site’s data.

However, data protection goes beyond just security. What about privacy?

Website users can’t help but worry about their privacy, and they’re right to be concerned. If you intend to improve your users’ experience, creating a well-detailed dashboard shouldn’t be your sole focus. Provide and adhere to a strict privacy policy that keeps your users’ data away from getting exploited.

In a web-hosting context, security and privacy are interwoven, but they only complement each other. Neither guarantees the other.

What’s the difference?

Security is all about preventing unauthorized entities from gaining access to a website’s information, programs, and network.

On the other hand, privacy is a policy that doesn’t let unauthorized parties and even legitimate ones like the site administrators exploit the site’s users’ data .

Data in this context isn’t only the information a user willingly inputs while transacting on a website. Users leave footprints on websites every time they log on to them. Think of it as leaving DNA residues.

These residues are also known as cookies. It’s not an intentional process on the user’s part, but it’s an essential feature of the network and hosting system.

Data left by users help website administrators condition and improve users’ experience on subsequent visits. Only when consented to by a user.

In a nutshell, security prevents breaches, and privacy policies ensure the contextual integrity of users’ data within a website.

While visiting a website, you may have noticed a small padlock icon in the address bar, positioned at the beginning of the website URL. The icon indicates the website is authentic and secure. When you acquire an SSL certificate for your website, this padlock appears in the address bar of your website.

How does this certificate keep your website safe? Who needs an SSL certificate for their website? Let’s dig in.

What is an SSL certificate?

The term SSL is the abbreviation of Secure Sockets Layer. It is a security protocol that enables an encrypted connection between a server and a web browser. It ensures no one except the authorized entities has access to the information transferred through this connection.

An encryption algorithm essentially scrambles the data in transit so that the hackers do not get to read or modify the data.

When you get an SSL certificate for your website, besides the padlock icon, it also adds the acronym HTTPS to your website URL. HTTPS stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure. Without the certificate, it only shows HTTP, the S that stands for secure doesn’t appear in the address URL.

By clicking the padlock icon, users can see the details of the certificate. The details include:

the domain name

the validity period of the certificate

the name of the organization that issued it

and others.

Who needs an SSL certificate

Ideally, anyone who is running a website should acquire an SSL certificate before they launch the website. It protects sensitive data such as credit card details, bank account information, and any other personally identifiable information.
If you have an e-commerce website where the users submit financial information to buy a product, you must get it to keep the data safe. Besides, the websites where the users need to put login credentials also need to implement SSL security protocol so that hackers do not get access to those data.

But if your website doesn’t collect sensitive data, do you still need an SSL certificate? The answer is yes; even if you do not deal with sensitive data, you still should get an SSL certificate.

When a user tries to visit a website that doesn’t have an SSL certificate, they receive a warning from the browser that the connection is not secure, and hackers can steal their data. After getting the notification, the users need to press the ‘proceed anyway’ button to visit the website. 99% of the visitors won’t take the risk to proceed to a website that is not secure, and they will leave immediately.

If your website doesn’t have one, you will lose potential customers, and all your efforts to put on a website will go in vain.

Thus, before you launch your website, talk to your web hosting company, and ensure that you have an SSL certificate for your website.

Visit Dynamic Hosting to get a secure dedicated server for your business website and provide a seamless experience to your users.

Over the last few years, many companies have switched to a remote work setup. Cloud technology has made it much easier to do this, as it enables users to store and access data without having a hard connection to the server. If your company is looking to make remote work easier, there are many benefits to setting up your own private cloud. Dynamic Hosting makes it easy to set up a private cloud on your dedicated server.

Highly Secure

Private clouds provide additional security for teams working remotely. A private cloud is going to be much more secure than a public cloud, because you can customize it with cybersecurity solutions that best fit your needs. Depending on the industry you are in, you can also customize your cloud to be compliant with industry regulations.

Cybersecurity threats are more common now than ever before. Cyber attacks can threaten your customers’ and your employees’ privacy, and they can also be very expensive to deal with. By using a private cloud, you’ll minimize the chances of this happening and protect your business.

Flexible Work Environment

Using a private cloud gives your employees much more flexibility when it comes to where and when they work. This is particularly important for companies that want to maintain a remote or hybrid work setup.

With a private cloud, your team can access all of the resources they need for work, no matter where they are in the world. They can also access the resources they need from a much broader variety of devices, including smartphones and tablets. By offering this kind of work flexibility, you can attract talent from all over the world. Many people also look for a remote or hybrid setup when taking on a new job, so using a private cloud can make your company more enticing to top talent.

Affordability

Another helpful benefit is the affordable cost. Dynamic Hosting offers dedicated servers at reasonable pricing, so you don’t have to break the bank to implement the technology that you need.

Dynamic Hosting’s pricing is designed with small businesses and entrepreneurs in mind.

Looking to set up a private cloud server for your business? Contact Dynamic Hosting today. We offer a range of convenient server options to meet your unique needs.

When selecting a web hosting provider, one of the most important things to look for is security. Cybersecurity threats have become increasingly serious over the past several years, and it’s important to make sure your web host can protect you. Dynamic Hosting offers secure dedicated servers for those who need the highest performance. Here are the security measures you should look for in a web hosting provider.

Dedicated Servers

One of the biggest choices you’ll need to make when selecting a web host is whether you want shared servers or dedicated servers. While shared servers are more affordable, dedicated servers are going to be much more secure. Since you aren’t sharing your server with any other clients, you won’t have to worry about any security risks coming from them. You can also customize your server to fit your unique needs, which can help protect you from security risks.

Physical Security

Your web hosting provider will keep your servers in a data center. It is important to make sure that the data center is physically secure so your server won’t be damaged or corrupted. Your host should offer 24/7 monitoring, as well as secure access points for authorized personnel only. Your host should also make sure to protect your servers from damage. This includes using backup generators and temperature control to prevent outages and overheating, as well as some waterproofing measures.

Anti-Virus Protection

Viruses, trojans, ransomware, and other forms of malware can be incredibly damaging to your company. Cyber criminals have become increasingly sophisticated in their attacks in recent years, and it’s important to make sure your web host can protect you from them. A secure web host should offer some form of malware protection, completed on a regular basis.

SSL Encryption

It’s also very important to make sure that your web host offers SSL encryption for your site. This is particularly important if your site’s visitors are making purchases or entering any other personally identifying information. This helps protect both you and your customers. It also shows those who visit your site that you take their privacy seriously.

It’s important to take security seriously when launching a website. Dynamic Hosting offers customizable dedicated servers to fit your needs.
